2009 DCNR Employee Recognition Awards
The 2009 DCNR Employee Recognition Awards took place on May 7 at the Rachel Carson State Office Building. Human Resources Director, Timothy J. Clapham welcomed recipients and guests and Rita A. Calvan, Deputy Secretary of Administration served as Master of Ceremony. Acting Secretary John Quigley handed out awards and lapel pins to all recipients. The Earthtones, a singing group compiled of 15 employees from both DEP and DCNR, performed 2 songs, receiving a standing ovation for their moving rendition of "God Bless America".
Quigley noted that all awardees are an inspiration to all of us for their accomplishments, excellence and teamwork. "I want to thank all of you for what you do every day," he said.

The team developed and implemented the Philadelphia Eagles' Forest to offset the carbon footprint of the Eagles football team. Congratulations!

Deputy Secretary of Administration, Rita A. Calvan (L), and Kathy Surman, L2589, DC88, Bucks County. Kathy received the DCNR Customer Service Award for her cohesive effort to complete the mission of bureau and agency when faced with staffing challenges. Congratulations!

Once again, Bill Delling, L2370, DC87, Wayne Co., of the Tobyhanna Lost Hunter Search Team, was recognized for his part in locating and rescuing a lost hunter using extraordinary personal and technical resources. Delling also received the 2009 Governor's Award for Excellence earlier this week. Congratulations!

of the Delaware Canal State Park Flood Repairs Action Team
with Acting Sec. Quigley. Lisa's team was responsible
for the repair and restoration of over 45 miles of the Historic
Delaware Canal, a National Historic Landmark. Congratulations!
