2008 Governor's Awards for Excellence

Linda Fullem, Local 2613, was awarded for excellence in Community Service. Sister Fullem is a dedicated volunteer for numerous Fayette County fundraisers, including organizing the PennDOT-Fayette Co. "Relay for Life" for the past 10 years. Proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

Eileen Feher accepted the 2nd excellence in Community Service award for her son, William. For 12 years, Brother Bill Feher, Local 2453, has organized the Wyoming Valley Motorcycle Show in Luzerne Co. to benefit the Wyoming Valley Children's Association. Feher was unable to attend the ceremony as he is stationed at Fort Dix and will soon be deployed to Iraq.

Larry Say, Local 2367, received a Cost Saving Award of excellence. Brother Say's cost-saving projects for the Historical and Museum Commission have saved over $200,000. Say also performs a multitude of tasks beyond his assigned duties.
Renee Shrimp, Local 2369, received her excellence award for Leadership. Sister Shrimp organizes and coordinates activities that enhance employment, morale and training. She also serves in the Facility Mentoring Program for Muncy State Correctional Institute.


Although Gov. Rendell's 2 rescued golden retrievers did not receive any awards, they enjoyed all the attention from the guests. Shown here is the 6-year old, Ginger. |
