State Budget Passes

At 12:45 a.m. on July 2nd, the state legislature approved the budget for the 2006-2007 fiscal year. "Council 13 expected that a budget would pass this weekend, but we did a lot of work to prepare for a delay," said Executive Director David Fillman. "I'm pleased that we have a budget in place, and that our 2007 contract negotiations will take place during a budget surplus, rather than a deficit," Filman added.
