State Budget Update!

Commonwealth employees should continue to report to work as normally scheduled, even if the Governor's Executive Budget has not been enacted prior to midnight on June 30, 2006.  This includes all employees, regardless of the employee status code (critical or non-critical).  Although the budget is still under discussion, the Governor has directed that all agencies and departments should continue operation until further notice.

It should also be noted that any employee who does not report to work, as scheduled, or is not on approved leave on the day before a holiday, will not be eligible to be paid for the holiday.

Keep in mind that before any furlough can be enacted, an individual letter, addressed to the employee, advising him/her of the date of furlough, must be provided by the employer. As of this posting, no such letters have been sent.

We are continuing to monitor the budget progress and will be updating the website as information is obtained.
