West Chester University Employees Help Foster Children

It took two vans and a car to deliver the gifts collected by Local 2345 for Bethany Christian Services for foster children in Chester County.

Member Beth Cooper spearheaded the union's effort, which was in conjunction with the University's Office of Learning and Volunteer Programs. In a thank-you letter to the Local, University Director Maggie Tripp wrote, "We were able to give 100 children and their families a much nicer holiday ... All of the caseworkers came out to help bring in the gifts. They were so excited. When they saw the AFSCME bags with blankets, they got very choked up."
