Phyllis Wingate Honored at APRI Awards Dinner!

Phyllis Wingate, AFSCME Council 13 Recording Secretary and Local 2586 President, with Executive Director David R. Fillman at the November 9 APRI Annual Awards Dinner. Several AFSCME representatives joined with Executive Director Fillman at the event to show our support as Wingate received the Rosina Tucker Labor Leader of the Year award from the Philadelphia Chapter A. Philip Randolph Institute.

Rosina Tucker was an outspoken union and civil rights activist who organized the
Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters, the nation's first black union.
