All state employees will not be paid as a result of the interim budget signed by the governor today. Some state employees will need special appropriations passed in order to receive their wages. These are the independents and they are listed below.
These Bills (listed below) were voted in the House today and they all passed. Next they will go to the Senate. The Senate returns Monday. If the Senate votes for the Bills, and we expect them to do that, the Bills will go to the governor on Tuesday of next week.
There are approximately 1600 employees affected by the eight Bills listed below, and of that number, about 500 are AFSCME represented. If the governor signs these Bills on Tuesday, the employees will be paid within about 5 days, according to the information we’ve been provided. This means they would be paid later than the state employees, under the governor’s jurisdiction.
