AFSCME Council 13 calls on motorists to slow down in work zones

As summer approaches and road work projects pick up, let us all remain vigilant when driving through work zones this week and always, as we recognize National Work Zone Awareness Week from April 26 to April 30, 2021.

“AFSCME Council 13 is proud to represent road crews at the state, county, and municipal levels, and we call on all of Pennsylvania’s motorists to slow down and drive extra carefully through work zones to ensure everyone can safely go home to their families,” Executive Director David Henderson said.

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) put together the following informational flyers. Please take a moment to review these important reminders and learn some interesting statistics that can help you be a safer driver.

Thank you to the AFSCME members, and to every person, working to improve our roads and bridges, for the invaluable public service you provide. To everyone else, thank you for driving carefully.
