AFSCME Council 13, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania reach tentative agreement for four-year state employee contract

Negotiators for AFSCME Council 13 have reached a tentative agreement with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for a four-year contract for state employees.

Council 13’s rank-and-file negotiators have spent the last few months hashing out a contract for their fellow employees. After numerous sessions, Council 13’s State Policy Committee unanimously approved the agreement.

Over the next few weeks, Council 13 members across Pennsylvania will vote whether to approve or reject the deal. Details of the agreement will not be released publicly until all members have been notified.

“We have negotiated what I believe is a fair deal for Commonwealth employees, as well as for taxpayers, especially considering the exceptional services Commonwealth employees provide to Pennsylvanians every single day,” Council 13 Executive Director David Fillman said.

AFSCME Council 13 is the largest public employee union in Pennsylvania representing the most Commonwealth employees, totaling more than 40,000.

Full results will be posted on AFSCME13.org once all local unions have voted.
