PHOTOS: Council 13 members march in 2025 Pittsburgh Labor Day Parade

Thousands of people lined the sunny streets of Pittsburgh as PennDOT and PPS trucks rolled through the Steel City and members of Council 13 brought the noise with their union family for the 2025 Labor Day Parade, but not without first taking a moment of silence to remember those who lost their lives in performing their labor. We honored the memories of the workers we recently lost at Clairton Coke Plant, as well as our fallen PennDOT/DCNR brothers and all workers we have lost this year.
Let us celebrate all we have accomplished, but never forget all that has been sacrificed by the workers of this commonwealth and this country to achieve the social and economic gains — and days off — that we enjoy today.
"Pittsburgh has always been the epicenter of labor in this country and we were all reminded of that today," said Brian Brocato, President of AFSCME Local 297 (Pittsburgh Public Schools).
Special thanks to AFSCME Secretary-Treasurer Elissa McBride for marching by our side and to everyone who made this event possible!
