Live Chat Terms of Service

The Live Chat service is an optional instant messaging service implemented by AFSCME Council 13 (“Council 13”) to support its members and for their convenience. This service is operated during regular business hours when the Member Resource Center is open, on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

By using the Live Chat service, you agree that AFSCME Council 13 (“Council 13”) may store and/or archive the content you enter in the chat.  Please do not enter personal or sensitive information of any kind. As with any online service, there is some level of risk when communicating information over the internet and Council 13 cannot assume any responsibility for any information that you may enter during your chat session.  You are responsible for any comments or materials you enter in the chat, and assume all liability arising out your comments or entries. Council 13 makes no representations or warranties with respect to the confidentiality of any information that you share through the service.  Council 13 may disclose chat transcripts or information they contain in accordance with applicable local, State and Federal laws, rules and/or regulations, including any lawful subpoena or court order.

Council 13 disclaims all responsibility and liability for the availability, timeliness, security or reliability of the Live Chat service. Council 13 may modify, suspend or discontinue the Live Chat service with or without notice at any time and without any liability to anyone. Use of the Live Chat service does not trigger any sort of legal relationship.  Information provided by Council 13 through this service does not constitute legal or other professional advice.
