AFSCME Council 13 recognizes Pretrial, Probation, and Parole Supervision Week

AFSCME Council 13 is proud to represent the public safety professionals who work in every stage of the criminal justice system in Pennsylvania.

This week, we give special recognition to those who work in the fields of Pretrial, Probation, and Parole Supervision. Their work offers a profound service to our commonwealth, as well as to the individuals they supervise. They have continued to do this invaluable work despite a global pandemic that added even more challenges and uncertainties to their daily lives.

Let us all take a moment to appreciate the magnitude of the service these dedicated professionals provide every single day, and let us honor them year-round for all they do.

Executive Director David Henderson issued the following statement:

“These have always been difficult and dangerous jobs, and the pandemic added yet another layer of risk to their duties. Nonetheless, Pennsylvania’s Probation and Parole officers at the state and county levels continued to serve selflessly to ensure our communities are safe. For that, we cannot thank them enough, and their union will continue to honor them with more than just words, but with powerful representation and impassioned advocacy, this week and every week.”
