Governor recognizes excellent performance of AFSCME members

Every day, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is powered by thousands of AFSCME members and other hardworking individuals who deliver excellent public services while often going above and beyond in the line of duty.

Every year, a selection of those employees receives the Governor’s Awards for Excellence.

This year, 50 state employees were recognized for their remarkable accomplishments, and AFSCME Council 13 congratulates every recipient.

Council 13 extends special praise to Robert Kobilis and Ian Detamore, members of AFSCME Local 2456 (State Professionals – District 8) and Local 1981 (Inspectors Non-Professional – District 8), respectively, for receiving this award.

Ian Detamore is an employee of the Department of Transportation. He and nine other commonwealth employees from various agencies developed Find My Ride (FMR) Apply, an online tool that allows individuals in most Pennsylvania counties to apply for transportation assistance programs, which has greatly benefitted transit agencies and Pennsylvania citizens alike.
