PRESS RELEASE: AFSCME Council 13 members unanimously endorse Senator Bob Casey

Harrisburg, PA (March 14, 2024) – Rank-and-file members on AFSCME Council 13’s Statewide Steering Committee unanimously and enthusiastically endorsed longtime union supporter US Senator Bob Casey for re-election.

“The stakes in this year’s elections could not be higher for working people and their unions,” AFSCME Council 13 Administrator Mike Sukal said.

“Senator Casey has always been on our side, and we are ready to join him in the ongoing fights for union rights, against corporate greed, and with everyday Americans at the heart of every decision.”

Following their endorsement, AFSCME members are now urging their fellow citizens to get out the vote in the primary election on April 23, as well as the general election on November 5.

Casey recently spoke to the committee virtually and will be joining a group of members and other supporters for a meet and greet in Harrisburg on March 14.

AFSCME members are ready to once again be a pivotal part of the democratic process in 2024 and look forward to doing so alongside Senator Casey.
