PRESS RELEASE: AFSCME members endorse candidates for US Senate, PA row offices

Harrisburg, PA – Rank-and-file union members on AFSCME Council 13’s Statewide Steering Committee unanimously endorsed US Senator Bob Casey for re-election, as well as PA State Representative Malcolm Kenyatta for Auditor General and PA State Representative Ryan Bizzarro for State Treasurer.

Committee members heard remarks from each candidate virtually and in-person on February 28, 2024.

Candidates for the Attorney General race also spoke at the meeting, including Joe Khan, Keir Bradford-Grey, and Eugene DePasquale. Jared Solomon was unable to attend the meeting, but his request for Council 13 members’ endorsement is greatly appreciated.

Ultimately, committee members decided not to make an endorsement in the primary election for Attorney General as the field is crowded with many strong candidates. Council 13 is grateful for all the candidates who took the time to speak directly with AFSCME members and ask for their endorsement.

AFSCME members look forward to once again being a pivotal force in this year’s crucial election and encourage all Pennsylvanians to get out to vote in the primary election on April 23, as well as the general election on November 5.
